Replaster Process

Remodel Before and After
Gemstone™ Obsidian Ivory with Designer Sapphire

Thank you for considering Bakersfield Pool Plastering to renovate your swimming pool and/or spa.  We want to assure you that our crews will do their best to make this an enjoyable experience for you.  In order for you to know what to expect during remodeling, the following are the steps that will be taken to complete a typical replaster and retile job:

  • We will set a pump in your pool in order to remove the water prior to preparing your pool for resurfacing.  We strongly recommend that you clean your pool filter anytime during the renovation process prior to resurfacing.
  • A chipping crew will be dispatched to prepare your swimming pool for resurfacing.  The preparation is done by either the Multicoat Bonding System (by applying multicoat to existing plaster) or chipping the existing plaster off of the gunite structure.  If you are installing new tile, the old tile will be removed during this preparation process.

Chipping Process

If you've decided to keep your existing tile, it can be cleaned at this time or prior to chipping to remove unsightly water deposits.
